FAMILY FUN DAY RAISES £1500 FOR WREXHAM CHARITY

A family fun day has raised £1500 for a Wrexham charity providing support for youngsters with special education needs and disability.

Rhosddu Fun Day held last month in Rhosddu Park raises funds for a specific charity each year and this year it was decided to support Dynamic, a Wrexham-based charity that provides activity sessions for a group for young people/young adults aged eight to 19 years of age.

Volunteers who organise the annual fun day surprised staff and about 15 youngsters at a rehearsal for the choir Dynamic runs called Signing Sensations in Capel y Groes.

The staff - Miss Amy, Miss Mandy and Miss Emma with volunteer Rebecca - were handed a cheque for £1500 to put towards Dynamic's efforts to buy a minibus.

Plaid Cymru Councillor Marc Jones, who is one of the volunteers on the committee, said: "We invited Signing Sensations to the Rhosddu Fun Day and they were a huge hit with everyone who saw them. They've also featured in the Mayor's Ball and also performed at the Guildhall. Every time they perform, you can see the enjoyment they get and the input from the three 'Misses' is also tremendous.

"We were delighted to have raised so much from traders at the fun day and equally delighted that the figure was rounded up to £1500 by Rhosddu Community Council, which supports the fun day."

Cllr Jones added: "Next year's fun day is already being planned and we'll be discussing how we can make it even better for 2026. We wish the Signing Sensations and all at Dynamic the best for the coming year."
