A new defibrillator has been installed outside the Railway Inn in Rhosddu thanks to local fundraising and a donation from the local community council.
Councillor Jon Billington, who sits on Rhosddu Community Council, said the idea for the life-saving equipment first came from Railway Inn landlord Rod Giles. He said:
"Rod wanted to ensure there was a defibrillator available 24-7 for the community and was willing to have it on the Railway Inn wall. Funding was an issue as the Railway had raised half the money through charity events, so I raised the matter at Rhosddu Community Council and they were more than happy to help with the purchase and installation of the equipment."The equipment will be maintained by ongoing charitable events at the pub and I'd like to thank both the community council and the Railway Inn for coming together to achieve this. The pub does a lot of fundraising for the community and it's great to see the community council backing this venture."
