Plaid activists campaigning to save our services

More than 100 people attended the Fire Brigades Union's rally in Wrecsam against proposals by the North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority to cut services across north Wales. 

Speaking from the top of an FBU fire engine, Plaid Cymru's councillor Carrie Harper explained the backdrop to the proposed cuts and why it was so important to resist. You can watch her speech in full here.

Other speakers included the UCU's Amy Rattenbury, who emphasised trade union solidarity among all strikers and campaigners as well as Cerith Griffiths (FBU Cymru), Stuart Stanley and Matt Ryan (FBU North Wales) as well Merseyside FBU chair Lee Hunter and Cllr Dana Davies of Labour.
